1 Corinthians 15:10.
The first time I met Michelle, she was a gentle soul with a loving heart. Michelle welcomed me as I was and I never once felt judged. I have been able to tell her things I have never been able to say out loud, even to myself. Michelle has listened, encouraged, and loved me graciously. Through our counseling sessions, I have learned how to be proud myself and my accomplishments these past couple of years. I have learned to forgive myself for my mistakes. Lastly, I have grown to trust in my relationship with the Lord and his plan for my life. My life has been forever changed.
In a word, "eclectic." Biblical principals and belief in God are the foundations of treatment. I also bring in research-based approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, PREPARE/ENRICH and Attachment Theory. I'll often integrate some "play" and creative therapies while including art creation and movement. You will benefit most from an individualized treatment plan, tailored specifically to your needs and goals.
The number of sessions will be a cooperative plan. Change takes time and a commitment to a sometimes painful, sometimes triumphant process. I'll ask you to try new things, do your homework and be present during each session. It's like the old saying: "you get out of it what you put into it!"

Typically, an appointment can be set within one week of your initial call.
Please cancel your appointment at least 24 hours before your scheduled time; otherwise, you will be charged for the broken appointment.
At this time, I do not accept insurance directly. However, many insurance companies will reimburse you for counseling. At our first session, we can discuss the pros and cons for using insurance.
First, please read over the Patient Privacy Agreement. Next print, complete and sign the Patient Consent Form and then bring to your appointment. Second, before your initial appointment, consider what you would like to gain from counseling, and jot down a couple of goals.
